James Island Yacht Club's junior sailing program on Charleston Harbor offers classes, lessons and racing for sailors ages 6 to 18 through the year, open to members and non-members. Summer sailing runs Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm in Opti, Sunfish, C420 and ILCA fleets split by age and ability, with a half-day Tidal Tykes option for ages 6 and 7. Spring and fall seasons meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and private lessons are offered to juniors enrolled in a club program or from member families. The club's Adventure Camp for ages 6 to 10 is a nature-based summer day camp with marsh walks, crabbing, kayaking and beach days.

Pleasant, on the left is downtown Charleston with the Arthur Ravenel bridge in the middle. This is one of the best sceneries I’ve seen in a long time.
