Charleston Community Sailing Inc.

Charleston Community Sailing is a 501c3 nonprofit teaching sailing on Charleston Harbor from its sailing center at the Charleston City Marina. During the fall and spring seasons it runs scholastic after-school sailing programs for students from kindergarten through 8th grade, offered in eight-week sessions with 2.5-hour classes one day a week. Summer junior sailing runs in four sessions, with morning classes from 8:30AM-12:00PM and afternoon classes from 1:00PM-4:30PM plus an optional lunch hour care add-on. Guppy classes sail the keelboat fleet and suit sailors aged 5-18, Opti classes use Optimist dinghies and SailQube prams for ages 8-15, and 420 classes use scholastic and Club 420s for ages 12-18. No prior experience is required. CCS is also home to several high school varsity sailing teams and offers private lessons on its Optimists, 420s and keelboats throughout the year.
