Charleston Community Sailing is a nonprofit youth sailing program running summer camps out of the Charleston City Marina. Sessions run Monday through Friday, 9am to noon, from June through August, teaching beginners to independently skipper a boat. Younger sailors ages 8 to 15 learn on single-handed Optimists, while older sailors ages 12 to 18 sail Club 420s.

We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Charleston Community Sailing Inc. directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

I grew up high school sailing through this organization. They are committed to growing the sport of sailing in the Southeast and are a great resource for anyone looking to learn to sail!
Great programs and great people! My son has been going since he was a guppy and every year after to the beginner racing. He enjoys doing many programs over and over. Well worth it and its for everyone!
