Powered by GoogleOur son Julian has been attending Sunday classes at Jag Gym, and it has been such a wonderful experience for our family. He absolutely loves going every week. In fact, he enjoys it so much that we bought him some exercise mats for home so he could practice his launches between classes. We've seen a huge improvement in his coordination, confidence, and overall athletic ability. He even teaches his little sister what he's learning, and now she's practicing launches too! It's been so fun watching him discover a love of movement and exercise at such a young age. As a bonus, all that activity helps him burn some energy on the weekends, which every parent can appreciate! What really sets Jag Gym apart, though, is the incredible staff. Our son's birthday is coming up, and one morning on the way to school he opened our mailbox and found an envelope addressed to him. We told him it was from Jag Gym. When he opened it and discovered a personalized birthday card signed by the team, his face completely lit up. It was actually the first piece of mail he had ever received himself, and he was beyond excited. He brought it to school and proudly showed all of his friends that his gym had sent him a birthday card. It absolutely made his day. The classes are fantastic, but it's these thoughtful little gestures that show how much the team genuinely cares about the kids. Jag Gym isn't just a great place to learn gymnastics and build coordination; it's a place where children feel seen, and celebrated 🥹 We highly recommend it to any parent looking for a positive, supportive environment for their child!!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jag Gym. Our family has been a part of this incredible community for almost four years, and the impact it has had on my daughter — and our entire family — has been truly profound. From the very beginning, the coaches at Jag Gym met my daughter exactly where she was. They never rushed her, never made her feel behind, and never set expectations that didn't honor her individual pace and abilities. Instead, they took the time to truly understand her as an athlete and as a person, building a foundation of trust and confidence that has allowed her to grow in ways I honestly didn't expect when we first walked through those doors, while still holding her to their high standard of skill. What sets Jag Gym apart is their genuine commitment to being all-inclusive — and I mean that in every sense of the word. This isn't just a talking point for them; it's lived out every single day in the way their coaches show up. Jerome, Heather, Nate, and Dakota are truly in a class of their own. Each of them brings something special to the gym, and together they create an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and capable. They cheer just as loudly for the small wins as they do for the big ones, and that consistency means the world. One of the things I'm most grateful for is how the coaches helped my daughter connect with her peers. She has grown so much socially through her time at Jag Gym — learning how to encourage others, how to be part of a team, and how to build real friendships. The gym has become a place where she genuinely belongs, and that sense of belonging has spilled over into every other area of her life. Not once — not in almost four years — has my daughter ever felt unwelcome or out of place. That is not something you can fake, and it speaks volumes about the culture Jerome, Heather, Nate, Dakota, and the entire Jag Gym team have built. They clearly love what they do, and more importantly, they love the kids they work with. If you are looking for a gym that will meet your child where they are, push them to grow at their own pace, and make them feel like they truly belong — Jag Gym is the place. We are so grateful to be part of this community, and we look forward to many more years ahead.
There are a lot of things you can overlook at JAG Gymnastics in Culver City—the overpriced classes, the rundown equipment, the autopay hustle—but the racism? That’s where it crosses the line. Let’s be clear: not all the coaches are racist—some are amazing and clearly care about the kids. But enough of them are rude, dismissive, or condescending to children and parents of color that it starts to feel like more than coincidence. And when you try to say something? That’s when the real issue shows up: management does not care. Helga from HR is the last person who should be handling people. She’s unbothered, unprofessional, and flat-out dismissive when serious concerns are raised. She’s mixed up the names of multiple Asian staff members—repeatedly. At one point, she was overheard telling a parent that “Spain Spanish is more proper than Mexican Spanish.” It wasn’t a misunderstanding. She said it, and she said it proudly. This is the person supposed to be handling complaints. And then there’s JR, who somehow manages to be both passive and aggressive at the same time. The vibes are awful. He doesn’t listen, he doesn’t help, and he always feels one step away from blaming you for daring to ask a question. He seems more concerned with defending the brand than protecting the children or supporting the staff. If you were lucky enough to meet Alexus at the front desk back in the day, you probably noticed the shift when she was gone. She was one of the few people who brought genuine warmth, care, and competence to that place. When she left, it was like a light went out—and nothing has replaced it. This isn’t just about uncomfortable comments or rude moments. It’s about a culture that allows this behavior to exist unchecked. A place where parents of color are treated differently, where complaints go ignored, and where leadership defends itself instead of listening. Your child might have fun in a class or two. But is that worth supporting a place that shrugs at racism, gaslights concerned families, and pretends it’s all just miscommunication? JAG needs a total leadership reset. Until then, avoid it. Your money—and your kid—deserve better.
The amount of attention, compassion, and support the coaches give the kids is truly admirable. I have seen so much growth in the gymnasts confidence, skills, and happiness. It's an amazing place. To say they do "good things for kids" is an understatement. They are a childhood haven where kids are put first. Worth every penny. No where else like it.
JAG gym is a great gymnasium. The facility is gold standard and their coaching staff is top notch. The only downside is the tuition. It's pricey but that rent and amount of equipment has so be outrageous! 😝 We've been here 5 years and my daughter is very happy here. I've loved watching her progress and growth. Thank you JAG for all you provide.
