JCC is more than a choral program for children. They provide individual growth, community, discipline, and teach the importance of teamwork. Their campus downtown brings life to the city. I cannot wait to see them continue to flourish.

DO NOT sign up your kid here. It’s a complete rip off!. My daughter went to the downtown location there is NO free parking like they say there is when you enroll your kid. The door is unlocked all the time on Thursday night, meaning any homeless person can just walk in this location. As you know downtown jax has a lot of homeless people. The staff is incredibly rude, The kids don’t have a say in anything. The teachers choose the songs and the kids don’t get to learn individually. All their work with kids is based upon what they want and not the students . Don’t waste your money it’s a nightmare. To top it off , Another student was bad behaved in my child’s class, every Thursday my daughter would come out and complain how the boy didn’t allow them to focus. The teacher gave him multiple warnings yet still stayed in class throughout the whole winter semester. If you want your child to truly learn and expand this is Not the place !

The JCC is an incredible organization that truly stands up to their mission to provide a high- quality music education for all children. Quite unique in what they do, I have never seen so many young, talented singers in one place. THE top tier choral music experience for singers of all ages! From the artistic staff to the final performance, JCC goes above and beyond to design a modern music curriculum that is fun, encouraging and as competitive as you're ready to take it. If you haven't seen them live you are missing the gem of Jacksonville. My favorite part as a parent is that they have multiple rehearsal locations throughout the city to accommodate the full family schedule. No excuses...audition today!

There are many aspects that are appealing about the chorus. It was a breath of fresh air to see such highly talented children come together in harmony. A few months into the chorus, a few things were blatantly obvious. It is a major fundraising feature of the church. Aside from the steep tuition, finding a sponsor is the responsibility of each family. If a sponsor is not found, you have to pay and consider it as a donation. The volunteers and staff do not pay close attention to the children especially during Super Saturdays and concert days. My child had gone through a highly traumatizing experience during one of their concerts with no adult noticing a thing. For an organization to be around for as long as this has, I was hoping for more accountability and deep care and concern for their major fundraisers, the children. Unfortunately, this was not apparent as the weeks went by. I do hope they make a change that will create a safer haven for children who come for the simple love of music.
