This is a long review, but it is important for parents looking at soccer clubs in St. Charles county. We were so excited to leave Lou Fusz and join this club in fall 2023, but unfortunately, we are halfway through my son’s second season of this club, and we could not be more disappointed. First of all, if you are looking for a true faith based club, you should look elsewhere. Because of the shortage of coaches, they keep coaches who are quite cruel to the young players in how they are spoken to and how they are treated. It’s so bad that the club has lost many great players because of it. Many boys have left completely deflated and have lost their love for the sport. Favoritism is rampant and parents are lied to. Teams have been torn apart. Half of our team (the least favorites of the previous coach) were placed on another team, remaining in the same division as the previous season even though we contributed to our previous team winning first place in the division in the previous season. The other half of the team moved up. Not only that, we weren’t told that our new team wasn’t going to move up until after we had paid and started the new season. Many parents have brought this to the attention of club leadership, including the owner of the club, but we are gaslighted and manipulated to believe that the decisions that the coaches make are in the best interest of our children. We were also told that it was the decision of SLYSA, but the previous coach made the decision to split up the team and keep his favorite players, and the club didn’t tell us about the division issue until after we had already committed for the season. We are grateful for this seasons coach, but sadly, the damage has been done. We will finish this season because we don’t want to back out of a commitment to the team (and we’ve already paid thousands of dollars for the season), but we are done with ICFC at the end of the spring season, and we won’t be the only ones. One team member left already which says a lot considering how much they paid already for their son to only play two months of the season. This review may seem harsh, but based on our experience and the experiences of many of the families that we’ve become close to, I feel a responsibility to share this. I truly hope they get their staff in order and focus on their mission of being a faith based club, but they first need to figure out what faith based even means. A 15 minute prayer and devotional during practice means nothing when 11 year old boys are coming home in tears because their coach calls them trash.

We came from a different club and are so happy we found Impact City! The coaches are excellent and you can tell that they really have a passion for coaching and they care about our kids. I’ve also been very impressed with the level of organization and communication which was something that was lacking at our last club!
