Powered by GoogleThe camp is amazing, my two kids love it and the staff are so kind. Ever since the first time the kids went, they ask to go back every summer. They also love that there are different themes every week for camp that they can do.
I am writing this review with a heavy heart and profound disappointment after our recent experience at this camp. My son, who has consistently received commendations from his teachers and peers, was shockingly subjected to bullying behavior by a camp counselor, this included name-calling, fabricating incidents, and singling out my son with baseless accusations. What is even more disconcerting is the camp management's lackluster response. Despite verification of my son's innocence from another parent directly involved in the matter, the camp administration showed little to no resolve in appropriately addressing the issue. Instead of taking appropriate action and providing reassurance about my son's future safety at the camp, they proposed 'solutions' that effectively shifted the burden of resolution onto my nine-year-old child. Their suggestion that my son could either withdraw from camp with refund for remaining weeks or return without any assurance against further distressing encounters with his counselor, is testament to their flagrant disregard for a child's well-being. It reveals an alarming lack of commitment to their fundamental responsibility as a childcare provider. Any childcare institution's primary obligation should be ensuring the safety and emotional well-being of the children in their care. Regrettably, this camp's approach to our situation raises severe doubts about their dedication to these crucial principles. Now not only is my son missing the summer camp experience this year, but an experience that was meant to be a fun and happy experience has left us all traumatized. I am not one to write bad reviews but in this case I feel it is crucial to share this with other parents so you can make informed decisions when deciding where to send your children for camp. It's vital that our children are treated with respect, care, and kindness, especially in settings designed for their growth and enjoyment. To say that this camp fell distressingly short of meeting these basic expectations is an understatement. ____ UPDATE: Our Response to Owner's Response to Our Review. Thank you for your public response to our review. However, we must make it clear that this gesture does not rectify the situation or ease the distress that has been caused to our child. Our son, whose cheerfulness is a defining trait, has been visibly upset and noticeably different over the last few weeks due to his traumatic experience at your camp. Now he is also feeling the loss of the remainder of his summer, a time that should have been filled with fun experiences with his friends, not cut short due to the inappropriate actions of your staff member. Your assurance of looking into this matter "later in the fall" disregards the immediate and persisting harm done. It's disconcerting that you refer to the matter as our "perspective" when it is a reality that has caused a significant negative impact on our child's well-being. While we acknowledge your intention to learn from this feedback, we want to reiterate that our priority is not to continue a public discourse, but to prevent any other child or family from going through the ordeal that we experienced.
We were recommended by a friend and I have to say my daughter really enjoyed the summer camps this year. There seems to be a particular approach in the camp themes which help maintain the uniqueness from week to week but we particularly love the creativity, motivation and positive reinforcement that is continuously exhibited. My daughter continues to learn different skills and is excited to share them with me. So happy to have a camps like this to enjoy during the summer!!!!
Every summer we wish for our children to play and have fun! IDEAS Summer Camps is one of the best in town and my child just loves it. The friendly counselors and super healthy environment is a place that our family can consider a summer home! It is our third year there and surely will be many more…thank you to all the staff at IDEAS Camp! :-)
Amazing! We signed my grand daughter up for summer camp with IDEAS Summer Camps. Each night she talked on and on about all that she did there. So we extended her for two more weeks. Their security (ID checks) and mask policy are excellent and staff are super friendly and kid-focused. I can't recommend them highly enough.
