Hume SoCal is an overnight Christian camp at Green Valley Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains, running week-long summer camps for middle school and high school students plus a winter camp and team sports camps. Weeks combine speakers, worship, creative themes and recreation, with waterfront activities at the Cove (a blob, rope swing and water zipline), a 65-foot climbing tree, a 40-foot zipline, Leap of Faith and log walk high-adventure elements, archery, hatchet throwing, disc golf and a swimming pool. Campers sleep in six dorms with innerspring bunks and central baths, and the dining hall seats 400 with gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy-free options. Check-in is Sunday at 3:00pm and camp ends Saturday morning after breakfast; camperships are available for every camper who needs one.

Hume cares so much for everyone that attends, counselors included! Obviously, it’s very different from life that I am used to, but it was an amazing weekend away from distractions and focused on God! You get a lot of free time, and there are so many options such as the zipline, hikes, or going to the cafe. most of the stuff is free, but i do recommend bringing about $20 if you are interested in buying snacks or merch. another thing i love about Hume is that all of the staff is Christian. if you have any questions about God, or if you need prayer, you can find any staff and they will pray for you! Hume goes all out with the themes, and they make sure to bring it all back to God. they carefully handpick every pastor so that we will leave Hume filled with the truth, and the true love and peace of Jesus christ. Hume is like heaven on earth; most of the people that attend Hume are christian, or are open to becoming one. worship is absolutely magical and was so heartfelt. last year some people from my church stayed after worship for a time of prayer. it was so meaningful and i broke down in tears just overwhelmed by the mercy and fullness of God. it was the best thing i have ever experienced. the cabin set up is really cool, and i loved getting closer with the girls from my church. i would definitely recommend Hume SoCal, for summer camp and winter camp! the views are breathtaking, and you get to see Gods beautiful creations! i love Hume and you should give it a chance! you will love it.
