If you want your child to just be told go play all day and get 0 attention especially if they’re struggling, this is the place. I sent 2 children to PAL, 1 was after school program, the other was summer program. Both kids were struggling and bored and hated It and had nothing but issues with the teachers mind you they are 4 and 8. I don’t like leaving reviews like this but expelling a 4 year old because he is nervous and doesn’t want to be along all day coming from a caring day care environment instead of actually spending the time with him to make him comfortable is not ok. The “camp counselors” just sit in the phones all day and pay 0 mind until something happens. Save your money and your stress.

I am a soul believer on keeping your kids involved, I wish I knew about this program when my daughter was growing up, she’s doing well on the other at 23 But my son is 16 and I can’t say enough good things about the Pal leader ship program that Sergeant Hill runs n also The Pal boxing league that Nate runs ( Howell police officer ) Life is not getting easier and our kids need more guidance than ever , these organizations can and will teach them life lessons . So you parents out there that think letting your kids play Xbox for five hours or more a week think it’s OK , wake up ! Five hours now 10 hours next year n so on . Do they study for five hours a week at home lol … all I’m saying is I see a lot of kids not being pushed by their parents to get involved in the community … Hands down ! these two programs r something you don’t want your kids to miss out on , they come out of the programs learning life long lessons number one is respect , self-esteem and it gives them courage to move forward in life just knowing the lessons that they learned at the meetings once every other week for an hour while they are having fun … no brainer , Just a heads up to your parents , I drop my son off and then I do shopping while he is there I run to Walmart or ShopRite and I’m back in an hour … it’s a win-win … my opinion Xbox is cancer . Pass it on please.

Howell PAL better the lives of kids and everyone all around Howell along with the surrounding communities. From helping Preschool to High School children, keeping our community clean, Howell PAL follows their 'Creative Writing and Mindfulness Workshop taking a non-religious, centering, and calming practice of moment-by-moment awareness of thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, characterized mainly by "acceptance": attention to thoughts and feelings without judging whether they are right or wrong. Mindfulness reduces stress, enhances performance, increases insight, and encourages awareness through observing one’s own mind while intensifying empathy and attention to others’ well-being Mindfulness gives a time in life to suspend judgment and unleash natural curiosity about the workings of the mind, approaching experiences with warmth and kindness'. Selfless, thoughtful and caring Howell PAL has, throughout the years, built and strengthened all those around them from the environment around us to the community within.
