It's hard to know where to begin at how awesome this place is. If you want to get away from the rat race of the city then this is a great place to do it. Hiking trails and a swimming pool, human fuzbol, basketball court, tennis courts, frisbe golf, fishing in the area, open fields w/ grass cut for any sport, summer camps for kids through high school, soccer camps, camping and wilderness survival camps, an area with a kitchen and fireplace for groups, tent and trailer camping, cabins, a honeymoon cabin, hotel style rooms,I could go on, check it out for yourself. My family went with a larger group. What I considered above the call of duty was a staff member who was willing to walk a path about a mile long to check on a relative who was unaccounted for. Just before he set off we made contact with our relatives so it wasn't necessary, but I'm really impressed that he was willing to do that. I highly recommend this to a friend or a group of people that just want to get away from everything. They do have Wi-Fi if you need it but they don't really have televisions in the rooms which is fine with me because when I go there it's nice to escape the rush of the city life.

We love going here for day camp and family camping trips. The cabins and bathrooms are always clean, trails and pathways are well maintained. Fair warning that the cell phone reception is pretty bad (but that’s generally okay because we’re just there to get away)—TMobile tends to be the only provider with coverage in the area. If you go with your kids/friends/family, be sure to bring walkie talkies.

I think Highland Retreat was an absolutely wonderful place to go with men from my church to spend a weekend and share fellowship with each other and have a great time. And I would highly suggest going here to anyone else. It is quite an awesome situation that not only the pictures I have shared but other ones are available also to other places in this retreat. And it is quite awesome that there's specifically a youth section separate from the adult section for kids to enjoy as much as adults do.

After Covid-19 time we didn't think long where to go for Mother's day weekend gateway. There was a mother-daughter weekend together. The phone call to reserve spot was much more helpful than we expected. Our plan was to get a night in "A"cabin. Mr. Ken not just accepted our reservation but also offered a room in a lodge when he heard complaining that my daughter suffers from severe seasonal allergy. Also, he set up a microwave in the room. Such we could bring precooked food. Also he recommended a bird watching tour on Saturday morning. We did. It was awesome! The Highland retreat is very well maintained. There are plenty hiking trails. All of them are easy visible marked. The trails are with cut grass and take to the best places, from a rocky ridge and open meadow to the pond in the woods. The pleasant hike is around 2 mi. It was not our first visit to Highland retreat and definitely not the last one.

Awesome camp! The scenery is beautiful and contains plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained. The forest trails are well maintained with plenty of things to see and do along the way. They have added wilderness camping with tables and bunks out in the deeper woods. The staff of course are very friendly and seem like they want everyone to really have a good time. We've been coming here for over 10 years, and I enjoy it just as much everytime.
