Massanutten Academy runs co-ed residential Summer STAR Programs on its Woodstock campus in the Shenandoah Valley, blending leadership development, academic enrichment, athletics, adventure and outdoor team-building. Colonels Camp (grades 6-8, July 5-31) pairs leadership fundamentals with traditional camp fare - weekly themes, field trips, pool days, team competitions and outdoor adventures, with flexible attendance options; the Army JROTC Leadership Program (grades 8-12, July 5-31) is a four-week hybrid of classroom and wilderness training in first aid, land navigation, communication and physical fitness that earns one transferable high school credit for full attendance; the two-week Elevation Leadership Challenge (grades 9-12, June 19-July 3) filled its 2026 spots. All programs include supervised dormitory boarding, phones are limited, and the school notes the programs suit any student wanting structure and confidence, not only those interested in the military.
