HTAC is a must for any high school students in the South Jersey region looking to prepare for the College Audition Process. The masterclass teaching style allows you to feel what it will feel like to present your work and yourself to an audition panel. The incredible environment Scott and Christa Laska have fostered allows you to take risks, unapologetically fail, and learn! Working with Zach Wiseley, I felt confident with how to communicate with an accompanist in the audition room and mark up my song cuts most efficiently. The combination of incredible training in acting through song, vocal technique, acting, and improvisation sets HTAC apart from the rest. If it weren’t for HTAC and their guidance, I would not be the person or performer I am today. They truly set me up for success in such a daunting process, and I couldn’t recommend them more!

Unlike others who have attended HTAC, I am pursuing Stage and Production Management, a non-performance element of theater. I first attended HTAC as an actor, but it did not feel like the best fit for me. Scott and Christa noticed this and spent the next few years developing their studio so there was a space for me to gain the same experience and opportunities as all the other students. That is something I’ll always be grateful for. At the heart of the studio, Scott and Christa create a safe and welcoming learning environment that encourages students to be bold. They make students feel supported through whatever dream they wish to pursue, especially if that dream is in the performing arts field. As people who have worked in professional theater settings, the HTAC faculty offer great insight into many elements of the theatrical field. Scott and Christa gave me opportunities in technical theater to learn and grow that I could not have found elsewhere. Scott, Christa, and that HTAC community have been my biggest supporters, and I can not say how grateful I am for the training and opportunities they made available for me.

Saying that HTAC was a formative part of my childhood would be an understatement. I am currently a theater and performance major in college, and I would not be here without Scott and Christa's guidance and support. They gave me so much experience with performance and ensemble building, and experiences I will never forget. They teach strong technique while making sure all students are supported and confident. They helped me prepare for performing in college, and made me realize that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Scott and Christa are like family to me, and I will always look back on my time at HTAC fondly.

Not only did Haddonfield Theater Arts Center open my daughter up to the world of possibilities for her (starting at age 7). They created a safe space for her to become the hardworking, dedicated actor that she is today. This safe space allowed her in middle school, during an emotionally challenging personal situation, to know that it is safe to be whomever she wanted to be. Christa, Scott and their team of dedicated people were there with a firm hand and warm heart. I also was a student at the school for several years taking advantage of adult acting and improv classes, which have helped me professionally as an executive. I can't say enough about the quality of theater education a student receives here.

If I could give 10 stars, I would but I'll settle for 5. Haddonfield Theater Arts is a community of inclusive, accepting, supportive individuals. Our son was lucky enough to call HTAC his second home for 11 years from elementary school through high school, and the owners Scott and Christa Laska influenced my son so much he not only went on to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre, but follow in their academic college choice. HTAC prepares any student willing to work hard, learn to take "notes" without feeling judged in a supportive environment. In other words, HTAC prepares them for the real world of being the best version of themselves in and out of the studio. Christa and Scott Laska, along with the other talented staff bring so much professionalism and real-life experience, and we are so grateful they settled in our small town. There's zero doubt they've inspired countless students to pursue the performing arts after high school, be it major, minor, clubs.....it speaks to the passion they instill in any student willing to work hard. We also loved the communication we had with the staff. If our son was having an issue with scheduling, academic or social stress, personal issues....all it took was communication to them and they were our safety net. In a world filled with so much uncertainty and insecurity, we all want our kids to feel safe, seen and accepted. We also want our children to learn respect, rule following, hard work and how to take objective criticism without judgment. We want our children to learn to advocate for themselves and want to feel part of a community ourselves. These things all make better citizens of the world we want to live in, am I right? HTAC became that place for my son, his friends and the staff became an extension of our family.
