The Gymnastics Academy of Charleston runs full-day summer gymnastics camps for boys and girls ages 5–12, plus school-day-out camps on select holidays. Weekly camps blend instructional gymnastics with games and play; campers bring a lunch and snacks.

Powered by GoogleI have two young daughters who go to GAC. I've really been happy with the skills they're learning, and how excited they are about gymnastics in general. The facilities are clean, and the coaches are really helpful and encouraging.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Unprofessional Experience with Co-Owner – Charleston Location I had a deeply disappointing experience at the Charleston location of this gym, particularly with the co-owner. From the moment I raised a concern about being charged for a membership I never knowingly signed up for, I was met with defensiveness, accusations, and a complete lack of professionalism. The website was unclear and difficult to navigate—I even needed a staff member’s help to complete the sign-up process. At no point was it made obvious that I was enrolling in a paid membership, nor was any fee explained to me. When I tried to clarify this after the fact, I was met not with understanding, but with rude behavior, false assumptions (including being mistaken for someone else), and even threats of small claims court over a $60 charge. Rather than resolving the issue respectfully, the co-owner doubled down, discredited my character, and handled the situation in a way that was completely unprofessional and frankly shocking for someone representing a business. This experience has made it abundantly clear how poorly this gym handles communication, accountability, and customer service. There are plenty of other gyms in the Charleston area that offer adult classes—and I’m confident many of them would treat you with far more respect and basic decency. Based on this experience alone, I will not return and strongly urge others to consider alternatives.
We have a 5 year old and 3 year old enrolled here and we have nothing but good things to say. They are challenged and supported. Faith is my 3 year olds coach and she is AMAZING with the kids. They learn discipline and have so much fun.
If your'e looking for a professional atmosphere that can easily help you child not only advance their gymnastic skills but help with confidence overall then this is THE PLACE. We've been going here for over a month and have noticed a considerable improvement in our daughters core strength, skills and her overall happiness.
We love GAC. My son (10) is on a team (he joined after having so much fun at the gymnastics camp) and my daughter (5) takes rec classes. My daughter loves it so much she wants to quit dance and practice handstands all of the time. The coaches are approachable, helpful, good at what they do, and supportive. I didn't expect my daughter to learn a ton in her first set of classes but she somehow managed to master some skills in just a few lessons. I have had to call the gym a few times (due to being late in traffic, or with questions) and the phone is always answered or I'm called right back. I feel like my kids are safe and supported and that communication between coaches and parents is open. We've been very happy with all coaches and staff!
