Lions Club Wilderness Camp For Deaf Children
Camp Ross Relles is a Lions-run, not-for-profit camp and retreat property on 228 acres of Sierra foothills about 18 miles northwest of Nevada City, at roughly 4,000 feet. The camp states it is devoted to the recreational and creative needs of children disadvantaged physically, economically or socially, and many campers have ambulatory restrictions, visual impairments or other disabilities; the property is run to ADA requirements with accessible walkways, trails, restrooms, bathhouses and cabins and a heated, accessible in-ground pool. Facilities include 12 cabins sleeping up to 10 each, a lodge, a campfire amphitheatre, craft areas and basketball, baseball and tennis courts, with hiking, lakes and streams and the Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park nearby. Camp is booked by youth groups of roughly 30-120 for stays of a weekend to a week or more rather than by individual open enrolment, and three prepared meals a day are served.

It has great location, access to professional kitchen, a common hall, clean bathrooms/grounds/cabins, a pool, campfire area and a play ground. We stayed for a day and weather was great too. There is a trail that takes you to a nearby lake and was a enjoyable walk in the morning. A rare find definitely.
