Great Y. But recently been a tad disappointed on how the locker rooms in the afternoon have been littered with paper in trash on floor and even plastic bottles. The showers now are also missing the shower curtains. So now when you carry your clothing in or even your dry towel for that matter gets soaked before u can use it. And the shower ha ging hooks are becoming loose. I hope this is jus a hick up or maybe slight shortage on staff at the moment. And place will be back to the prestine condition it has been few months prior
Special shout out to the killer work outs from Lou (Xpress), Liz (Latin Dance), Marisa (Barre), Kim (Total Body), the relaxing time in Dave’s Tai Chi class, the kind and always smiling Grace (front desk) and the wonderful people at child watch Maggie, MJ, Charlene, and Katie who is also a lifeguard. They make everything possible and do it cheerfully. Been a member for 6 months at this Y and I go everyday. I enjoy it so much I’m there for several hours. From playing ball on the outside or inside courts to swimming laps and then getting into a group exercise class or a yoga class all in one day. This Y has it all from Aqua Fitness to Zumba.
All the gym equipment is extremely old and rusty. I sat on a seat that needed adjustment.. it would barely move but once it did, I sat down and 10 seconds later the seat fell with me on it- mind you I’m 5 months pregnant. Also the daycare needs to be better staffed. Shouldn’t have 2 elderly ladies with too many babies and toddlers.
Went to free swim.Physically, they have a nice indoor pool. I think staff believe that the children should just stand still in 1 spot in the water. At one point or another the staff spoke to or yelled at every child in the place. They are way too crazed about what they claim to be keeping the kids safe. I saw a staff member yell at a 2 year old little girl 3 times in a row for her fast walk and that staff member yelled at her father about what he chose to call "running". My husband was like ok buddy they got it the first 4 times you said it . They squeeze all the fun out of the place
