Powered by GoogleThis place is great for the whole family! I workout at the CrossFit gym while my daughter does her gymnastics class. It’s such a great community, and there are so many options for classes for my daughter. She looks forward to every class and I love that you can watch the classes from the second floor, and there’s space for younger siblings to occupy themselves!
The mats are not cleaned properly, and many students have had skin viruses and other issues that appear connected to the dirty equipment and mats. I ultimately pulled my child from this gym after my youngest hurt her stomach on the bars because there was not enough supervision or assistance. The biggest issue is the teacher-to-student ratio. Classes are packed, often with one young college-aged coach trying to manage 10–13 children at once. I personally watched a girl repeatedly struggle to get onto the bars and end up hurting herself because there was not enough coaching support or spotting available. Too many kids are not being properly watched or helped during class. Another major concern is the pricing combined with the cancellation policy. The monthly cost is already expensive, and the cancellation notice is unreasonable for families, especially when there are safety and cleanliness concerns.
My daughter loves taking classes here. The coaches work well with her and she has learned a lot over the last few years.
We been currently at 5 star for almost 2 years and we have loved every coach until she moved up to red team on Friday nights. I noticed a declined in my daughter skills and how the coach talks to these kids is not okay. Now mind you I am all for constructive criticism and trying to improve the athletes but how she talks to them is condescending and belittling specially to a 6 year old. If they want the athletes to come in with hair up and ready to go I believe the coaches should follow the same rules. Mind you we have loved every other coach besides this one coach who probably shouldn’t be coaching.
We have been at 5-Star for over 3 years now and we love it. We have seen our daughter grow, learn so much and work really hard. She started later than most girls and the coaches have done an amazing job teaching her skills and encouraging her to do better. There is always great communication. During this whole COVID crisis, they have kept us well informed and have set many protocols to help keep everyone safe at the gym. They have done an amazing job. We highly recommend them.
