Powered by GoogleWe have had a great experience at the YMCA in Palm Desert. The staff is friendly, helpful, and they genuinely care about the families that come through the doors. The facilities are clean, well-kept, and there are plenty of activities for all ages. My kids loved the basketball programs, and the coaches and counselors do a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged and encouraged. There is always something going on — from family events to sports — and it feels like a safe and welcoming place. This facility can be rented to host an event for a reasonable cost. Prices are very reasonable for what you get, and it’s a place that supports the community, not just a gym. Whenever we go, we leave feeling better than when we arrived. If you’re looking for a family-friendly place with great energy, helpful staff, and strong programs, the Palm Desert YMCA is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
The coaching situation in this flag football program is absolutely unacceptable. We paid a substantial registration fee to the YMCA expecting professional instruction, yet we have a coach who simply refuses to coach. She has been canceling practices, which made the fathers—the paying parents—to step in and run the program, from drills to game-time strategy! Now, she barely shows up, occasionally just to ref a game. Let me be clear: we are not volunteers; we are paying customers. The most infuriating part is the sheer audacity of this entire setup: we paid the YMCA to teach and coach our kids, and we are the ones delivering the service. We deserve better than a non-existent coach and a program that relies entirely on parent intervention. We expect the service we paid for
This place is absolutely horrible for children’s sports. The coaches are NOT trained and very unprofessional. No one will return me or my husbands phone calls. Zero communication. Do not use flag football and have any expectations. Very unhappy with this.
Ive been here 10 years ago when I was 12. I would go there after school and honestly it was the highlights of my day. The staff would be very nice and brighten up any kids day. We would play dodgeball in the gym alot and it would be competitive and fun. Help us with our homework. Treat everyone like family. Will never forget the place.
This is Regarding the Flag Football Program The Y offers. Honestly it's the WORST ORGANIZED Program I've ever witnessed. Not Only is it Pricey for only the "Cheap Jearsys" they Get, but they Never Have them by the time the First Game is Set to Start. Second the kids Work so Hard to Make it to The Finals or just to Have fun, to have it Taken Away by one of the "Coaches" who's also the Head Organizer, because he Screams/Pays His way to an EverySeason Win. Third the Referees Who Should Know the Game Rules and Should Always Be the Ones Making the FAIR Calls Regardless what the other Coaches Think or Want to happend. BUT No they are Always doing what the Coaches Call even things the aren't true or along for help! So redicoulose. I have never been so disappointed with a program at the YMCA like I am with this Program!
