Empire Tennis runs a Junior Summer Academy for ages 5-17 at the Harley School in Rochester, with players grouped by age and playing level for drills, games and match play. Weeks run from late June through early September; families choose a half day (9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm) or a full day (9:00am-4:00pm) that includes a lunch break and optional swimming. The site has three indoor and five outdoor courts plus soccer fields, playgrounds and an indoor pool. Separate UTR-based specialty clinics run afternoons for competitive players ages 13-17.

The management team is very friendly till they get the payment and after that will not honor their commitment. Once you have paid and joined the program, then responses to email queries take 2-3. Maybe our bad luck but the coach in not friendly at all. Overall highly disappointing.

In addition, he was challenging to reach by email to schedule the lessons - approximately 3 day response time. I would never go back nor recommend them. My son has great lessons at Midtown. Perhaps Empire was better before becoming overwhelmed with group lessons this year.

NEVER had them cancel on me, NEVER had them not respond to my emails when I had questions or I need to cancel and are ALWAYS responsive and quick to reschedule make-up sessions. Love all the instructors here and I sometimes stay and watch the lessons, they are very good with all the kids young and old alike. My husband has played tennis since he was 8 years old and coached himself. He has nothing but good things to say about how they are teaching our daughter.
