A True Lifesaver for Active, Neurodivergent Kiddos & Business-Owner Mamas! ​After an extra challenging week at a different camp, our week at Elk Grove Kids Camp was an absolute gem. ​If you are a parent of a neurodivergent child, you know how exhausting and heartbreaking summer transitions can be. My daughter has ADD (and we are in the process of an AuDHD/PDA evaluation). She absolutely LOVES being active and on the move, it completely feeds the ADD side of her brain, but drop-offs and separation have been an uphill battle this summer. It hasn't just been normal anxiety; it has been a true nervous system threat where she shuts down or has a massive meltdown. Because she is an amazing masker, most people don't see this side of her, which makes finding the right environment so critical. ​As a business owner who works from home, flexibility around my family’s schedule is the name of the game, and I love that lifestyle. But this breakthrough was about something much bigger than just getting a few uninterrupted working hours. It was about her feeling genuinely safe. ​This week, everything shifted. She absolutely LOVES it here, and I cannot sing higher praises for this program. ​The culture starts at the top: the owner, Kim, is a pure gem, and her staff completely follows suit. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. My daughter was on the go and loved that she got to swim for long stretches of time, not just a brief session. Even though she knows how to swim, she felt nervous about taking the swim test, so they simply had her wear a safety vest, no judgment, just pure safety, accommodation, and fun. As a mama, I couldn’t ask for anything more. ​She is already so excited to return. We will absolutely be back, not just next summer, but during her off-track breaks, too! Thank you, Kim and team, for giving my girl her confidence back.

My daughter attended camp here and loved it! The team was always so welcoming and engaged. She has such great memories of the camp leaders.
