Early Masters
Private
Early Masters is an art-history and painting school for kids (roughly ages 7-8 and up) in Seattle's Maple Leaf/Lake City area, running since 2007. It offers summer programs and workshops that pair art-history exploration (from Da Vinci to street art) with hands-on painting, and each participant completes a finished, wall-ready work.

Powered by GoogleMy son started classes with Shelley in the summer of 2024 when he was 11. He has learned SO much, and made some paintings that I have been absolutely gobsmacked by. It has been amazing seeing his skills and confidence grow, and his talent so thoughtfully nurtured. My son really looks forward to class every week during the school year, and is so psyched about the summer camps. Shelley really knows how to bring out the artist in every child. I am so grateful we found Early Masters!
Did it as a kid, one of the greatest times in my life.
Great art classes fort kids, and sometimes parents and kids! Shelley does a wonderful job of encouraging students. The classes usually has an element of art history built in to give context to the painter, something not always offered for the age group.
Early Masters studio offers art classes for kids in a very relaxed environment. I really appreciate that we can sign up for just one class or several, so my kid does not feel overwhelmed in afterschool committments and us parents can plan and accomodate more spontaneously. My kid loves this art class and we plan to continue attending this studio for years to come.
This was an incredible experience for my kids. It's the real deal! Shelley has a uncanny way of making art history and painting and creating super fun and engaging for kids. It's the go-to art camp in Seattle. Worth every penny.
