AdventureTerra is a climbing guide service on Lopez Island that runs a five-day kids tree climbing camp, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm, for ages 8 to 13. Campers learn rope-ascending and belay skills to climb old-growth Douglas firs, set lines with a giant slingshot, and fill out the week with hammock setting, slack-lining, bird and plant identification, intertidal zone exploration, drone flying, treasure hunting and journaling. The camp costs $600 per person and is a small group; transportation, food and overnight camping are not included, and reaching the site requires the Anacortes ferry.

Powered by GoogleThis is our second year taking our Scout group to participate in the tree climbing adventure (scouts overwhelmingly voted to come back a second time). I appreciated the staff working with us to organize the event and set the reservation. This is great event for scouts. It allows them to do something new and different, great team build through a shared experience, and helped them push their comfort zone in a constructive environment. The instructors did a great job working with the kids. I will be recommending this to other troops
Tree climbing was an amazing activity that we really enjoyed with Alex, our trainer. He is a good coach and a friendly person. I highly recommend always doing tree climbing with him.
We had a *great* experience doing the Sunset Tree Climb at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. The park is a gem a little over 1 hr outside of Portland and when I saw the opportunity to do a tree climb there it dovetailed in perfectly with our travel itinerary! I am so glad that the opportunity presented itself and that we took it. Brennan was an excellent leader showing us the, um, ropes obviously, and showing us how to confidently handle different situations and equipment. It was super easy to understand how-to, and to complete the climb with his calm and confident help and encouragement. Booking was easy, we received a day-of call prior to our meeting time to confirm if we were on track or needed any questions answered. +Friendly/kind leader/s, +small group of climbers, + beautiful setting, +close to Portland. Thanks so much for a great and inspiring day!
Trip date April of 22. My wife and I rock climb occasionally and thought it was cool to see trips catered to our ability level. I'm not in the greatest of shape but our guide was very supportive and accommodating. The canopy views were cool. We ended up staying the night at the hotel on the island and really appreciated the transportation back and forth since our car was parked in the ferry parking on the mainland.
Amazing experience! Had a great time climbing a massive old growth tree today at Silver Falls. Both Tim and Leo were great and thorough instructors. My girlfriend and I felt completely at ease and prepared for the climb before we adventured up. Will definitely be recommending to anyone willing to listen.
