Dutchess County Gymnastics Center at 204 New Hackensack Road in Wappingers Falls runs a ten-week summer camp for ages 5 to 12 from late June through early September, with each week built around a theme such as Shark Week, Animal Planet or Ninja Warrior. Days are filled with gymnastics and ninja activity plus crafts and games. Families choose full day, 9:00am to 5:00pm at $89 a day or $356 a week, or half day, 9:00am to 1:00pm at $71 a day or $284 a week, with drop-off from 8:45am.

My 3.5-year-old son is very sensory seeking, and we enrolled him in gymnastics to help him learn regulation skills while also building structure and routine. He often starts class feeling nervous or hesitant, but Coach Katie has gone above and beyond to make him feel safe, welcomed, and excited to participate. She took the time to build rapport with him in such a thoughtful way, even bringing special Spider Man stickers because she knew how much he loves Spider Man. Thanks to her patience and encouragement, he now looks forward to class every week, which is something we weren’t sure would be possible at first. What stands out most is that this care isn’t just for my child. I see her supporting other kids who come in feeling nervous at the start of class, too. The entire coaching staff does an amazing job of balancing structure, clear expectations, and warmth. They are the perfect combination of firm and caring, which creates a really positive learning environment for young children. We’ve tried other activities before and had to stop because my son was too nervous and didn’t receive the support he needed to ease in. Here, that has never been the case. I truly can’t recommend this program enough, the coaches are exceptional, and the impact on my son’s confidence and emotional growth has healed my mama heart. I am so grateful for Dutchess Gymnastics & the wonderful coaches.
