Double H Ranch

Double H Ranch is a free residential camp in Lake Luzerne, inside the Adirondack Park, for children living with chronic and serious illnesses. Co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman, it is a member of the SeriousFun Children's Network and states that all of its programmes are provided at no charge to families. Summer camp days include ziplining, archery and talent shows, run by trained staff alongside licensed medical professionals. The camp lists eligible diagnoses including cancer, congenital cardiac disorders, hemophilia and bleeding disorders, HIV and immune disorders, metabolic and mitochondrial disorders, neurologic and neuromuscular disorders, organ transplant and other rare diseases; its Adaptive Winter Sports Program also serves campers on the autism spectrum and campers with visual impairments. An equipped on-site medical facility, a team of doctors and nurses and a close relationship with Albany Medical Center support campers. Programmes run year-round, including summer residential sessions, spring and fall weekends, winter adaptive skiing and an outreach programme.

Live what they do for families for medically frail situations. We were thrilled to come out and stretch family members and care givers for this event.

Its a great place, if you can definitely volunteer. Everyone is super nice and its great seeing the kids happy and excited about camp! The most accommodating and accepting place to be no judgement no bad vibes, just fun, joyful, and healthy individuals!

We are so fortunate to be able to come to this enchanting children's (and family) camp. We came this spring as a new family and really fell in love with the staff, the grounds, the concept, the entire place. It is organized magic!! Beyond inclusive and exciting for all! The "cabins" are clean and accommodating- set up more like a college dorm than a summer camp cabin. My son is so excited to come back this summer for his first camp away experience. We will be back foe family fall weekend and certainly for the winter activities. Thank you all!
