When I was looking for a basketball program where my sons, ages 11 and 13, would learn actual skills, my friend introduced me to Coach Aleks and his Dominate program. My friend told me beforehand not to expect a group playdate, it's serious basketball training and the kids need to be receptive and willing to learn. I was very impressed from the start. Coach Aleks makes it clear that he is more interested in each player's growth potential, and to nurture a love for the sport, rather than how many points they score in games. When my older son was bummed that he didn't make a three pointer in a tight game, Coach Andre echoed this sentiment by saying that the game is about finding and taking the right shots, not about whether the shot goes in. Both of my sons have become much stronger players due to Dominate's mission of education, encouragement and support.
