Detroit City FC Downriver, the Downriver-area affiliate of Detroit City FC's youth program, runs a summer soccer camp at Heritage Park in Taylor for ages 6-14. The 2026 camp runs July 7-10, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm, with small-sided games, technical footwork and fun competitions led by DCFC professional youth coaches, plus guest appearances by DCFC pros.

★Melissa NicholsThis is our 3rd season with DCFC and it just keeps getting worse. Highly unorganized and no communication. Coaches are either late or don’t show up at all for practice. Leaving you to wander around the field trying to figure out where to go or what to do. They also seem to group the experienced kids together on the same team with a highly involved coach. While the more inexperienced/new kids are teamed together with a coach that is useless or does the bare minimum. We’ll be looking for another league for the future.
★Brittany HernandezNot a great experience. Kids that start young are categorized based on how good they’re. Completely understand it’s about learning fundamentals but no one is trying out for professional soccer at this young of an age. This was supposed to be an opportunity for kids to have fun. However, it was more of look how great these kids are vs other kids. Very disappointing. If your child loves or is great at soccer this is for you. If you’re just trying to figure out what your kid likes and want to have fun, try another place first.

The affiliate of Detroit City - Detroit's professional soccer team competing in the second tier of U.S Soccer - is run by a former City player and three-time mhsaa coach of the year that is also on staff for the club's academy system - providing a visible path through the club's pyramid. Great place to just start playing or if looking for a competitive environment with a focus on development.
