Powered by Googleits a lot of fun!
There is no curriculum, no leadership, and no commitment to educational fun. Students who are new will find themselves in a clique of instructors who will only pay attention to certain students. New students will be thrown in a boat and expected to learn themselves. The school closes when advanced members go to races and this often leaves students who don't go to these races with no class and no refund. They have no course, it's merely what the instructors want to do. This leaves the education process unorganized. Students are not allowed to have fun. Instructors yell at the kids as if they are in the military and forget this is supposed to be summer fun. They don't respect students. The "school" is a garage with rusty chairs, clutter, and even a bullet hole in the glass. The school board never visits or meets in the summer. There is no supervision of instructors who treat children very poorly and don't know how to give or get respect. Equipment here is old and often broken. There is no plan to change their ways or invest. This sailing school is extremely expensive for what it provides. The Lake Geneva Sailing School is a professional school with clean classrooms and advanced technology for learning. The Lake Beulah sailing school is over $200 cheaper and has produced many more champion sailers. DLSS leaves new students bored and confused. Full transparency: Joanne Marozza, the 5-star review, is a previous president and current board member of the sailing school. Former student and instructor. (Quit, not fired)
Sign up today for a great summer activity! Try something new! My family has enjoyed both youth and adult sailing lessons on Delavan Lake for over 40 years! Thank you DLSS for a wonderful family experience and for all the great friendships!
