ASTHMATICS BEWARE! I have formally reported ongoing, systemic health and safety violations at the Dearborn Health and Racquet Club. The crux of this complaint revolves around severe chemical mismanagement, bather hygiene violations, and questionable sanitary practices. 1. Hazardous Steam Room Operations and Respiratory Risks (Violation of Michigan Fire Prevention Code (Act 207 of 1941) and NFPA 1. Facility staff are bypassing required mechanical injection pumps and manually dumping cheap raw menthol directly into the commercial steam room. This unregulated, manual application creates highly concentrated, toxic vapors that cause immediate respiratory distress and burning of the eyes and throat. This is a severe health hazard in an enclosed environment... I don't want to vape while I'm trying to stretch. 2. Severe Bather Hygiene Violations (Violation of R 325.2192) There is a consistent, daily violation of basic hygiene codes. Patrons regularly work out on the gym floor and then enter the swimming pool and co-ed whirlpool while still wearing their sweat-soaked underwear. Despite acknowledging that this violates the health code, management refuses to enforce the cleansing shower mandate or the clean apparel requirement... I've never been into sweaty underwear juice. 3. Chemical Aerosolization (Violation of R 325.2156) Staff routinely use a power washer and "True Green" commercial detergent on the pool deck while patrons are swimming. The aerosolized chemicals create a respiratory hazard, and the runoff goes directly into the pool water, leaving a distinct taste of detergent in the water... This is just so dumb people need to know about it.

If I can give this place 0 star I would. I had a terrible experience with this gym. I was out of state and tried multiple times to cancel my membership, but they refused to process it over the phone. I emailed several times with no response, and instead of helping, they sent my account to collections. Very unprofessional and completely inconsiderate of customers’ situations.

I worked with Hussein Jouni to resolve some ongoing issues with my shoulder. Over several sessions, he helped me restore full range of motion, taught me several new exercises and proper form and posture. He also uses several tools and equipment for recovery at the end of the sessions. I would highly recommend.

The gym is great, but the true asset is Miss Britney at kids Club. I have never left my kids with anyone besides family and decided to do so for the first time at kids Club with Britney. The kids love her. She keeps kids club clean and makes it a safe place for the kids to have fun while parents work out. There is a gym at every corner in Dearborn but kids club with Miss Britney makes the racquet club a gem.

Coach Jouni made took my experience with The DRHc to a whole new level! He’s like no other experienced personal trainers, he’s so good that he is even way better than a physical therapist. That’s how high knowledgeable he is!
