David Raines Community Center is a Shreveport Parks and Recreation (SPAR) community center that hosts SPAR's free summer day camp—Kids' Camp for ages 6–11 and Teen Camp for ages 12–17—running Monday–Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm from June through early August. Our center was open to the community in 2001, by the city of Shreveport and ran by the department of Shreveport Park and Recreation and we are still going strong. The Manager is Claudell Sanford, Rev. Luther Adams ( Recreation Specialist) that me, and Faye Spillman (Senior Citizen Coordinator), Romedro Bishop (Recreation Specialist),Rhonda Taylor (Teacher),and Cassandra Wade (Teacher). We are open to the public from Monday Thur Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. We are a family center with a family staff to serves the Community. From fun and sports to helping with the kids homework in our tutoring class. Come out and check us out you be glad you did.
