Dance Makers, Inc. is an award-winning nonprofit dance studio in Lanham whose mission is to strengthen youth through dance and the performing arts. Its One Step Forward Summer Camp is a dance camp for children ages 5-13, with ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical. Open-enrollment studio camp.

★Kristina PUnfortunate! My daughter was excited to start here after a trial class but it was the wrong time with the weather and pre planned travels. I paid a deposit and asked if it could be applied to June's session and I was told "yes" to only be told 2 weeks later they cant do that. Then didn't want to give my deposit back. Very unprofessional business!!! Everything happens for a reason!

Although no major organization is without its shortcomings( communication), I am optimistic about her progress as a dancer and eagerly anticipate her continued development. The fees for the competitive dance team are in line with those of other dance schools, and it's important to be prepared for travel and to be fully devoted to your dancer's journey. She started out in the non-competitive dance program and eventually was invited to join the competitive dance team. The Director is straightforward and upfront about her expectations from the dancers and parents. The staff is responsive and very helpful. The instructors were fantastic - they did a great job getting the dancers competition ready. Competitive dance is a big commitment, but the experience was totally worth it for my daughter. If competitive dance isn't your thing, the non-competitive program still teaches your little ones the basics of dance while learning a routine that will be showcased at the end of the season performances. We also participated and enjoyed the summer camp program for years. My daughter enjoyed the trips to swim parks, skating rinks, Adventure parks, and more. Overall, we were super happy with our total experience at Dance Makers.
