Catholic CYO overnight camp on wooded land in Brown County, established in 1946 and accredited by the American Camp Association. Co-ed residential sessions of three to six days serve ages 7-19 in age-banded programs, with campers sleeping in cabins or yurts that have electricity and bathrooms. Days combine swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, a climbing tower, low ropes, archery, hiking, handicrafts, drama and camp-outs with faith programming including Mass, scripture and a daily faith hour. The camp describes itself as inclusive and also runs a day camp in Indianapolis, outdoor education and family camping.

★Landon YeminLet me start by saying I admire this camps efforts toward the younger generations and the experiences it provides. However, they do not seem to mind disturbing their neighbors peace and quiet. We moved to the beautiful woods of brown county to finally have that peace and quiet, only for it to be stolen by this camps head counselor and family that the administration moved into what they call “the big house”. Which is a nice house situated in the woods of brown county, next to me of course. Now I’m certainly old enough to know that kids are kids and play time is important but when said kids are allowed to scream and bang around so loudly that neighbors can’t even enjoy the same woods and parents who seem oblivious to their neighbors then something should be done. The administration has already let me know that they don’t intend to anything about it as they’ve allowed these counselors to trash the house and the yard in the woods and has no problem with their dogs barking constantly, let alone say anything about these children or the lack of respect for their neighbors. A place of this size and importance to the community should have more respect for the neighbors living in the woods around them and living around the camps staff.
