CuriOdyssey is a science playground and wildlife museum on Coyote Point in San Mateo that runs one-week summer camps from June through August for campers entering transitional kindergarten through 4th grade, roughly ages 3 to 10. Camps are built around the museum's hands-on science exhibits and its resident native-California animals, with an activities-based science program aimed at the 6-9 age band. The museum also runs classes year-round and is open to the public.

Powered by GoogleCuriOdyssey is one of the Bay Area’s best family-friendly destinations and such a perfect blend of science, nature, and hands-on learning. We had an amazing experience from start to finish. The entire space is thoughtfully designed to keep kids engaged while also making it enjoyable for adults. What really makes this place special is the combination of interactive science exhibits and the rescued native wildlife exhibits. The hands-on activities were incredibly engaging and encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and exploration. The exhibits are well-maintained, creative, and educational without ever feeling overwhelming. The animal exhibits were limited. Seeing the owl and other rescued animals up close was fascinating, and it was clear how much care goes into their rehabilitation and education programs. It’s wonderful knowing that the experience is not only entertaining but also supports wildlife conservation and teaches kids about local ecosystems. The outdoor areas are beautiful, spacious, and perfect for kids to explore. The setting inside Coyote Point adds to the experience, with plenty of fresh air and scenic surroundings. Staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the visit even better. This is an ideal outing for families looking for something both fun and meaningful. It strikes the perfect balance between play and learning, and it’s the kind of place that leaves kids excited, curious, and asking questions long after the visit. Recommended for anyone with young children in the Bay Area.
Odyssey Museum was an amazing experience. I had such a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment. The atmosphere was welcoming, the experience was engaging, and everything made the visit feel special. It was fun, memorable, and definitely worth it. I highly recommend Odyssey Museum to anyone looking for a great experience!
This is the first time I officially gone to CuriOdyssey, And blew my mind. I was with my family(wife,son,sister-in-law) Everything was awesome. This is the first time. My child actually sat down or stayed at a location to learn about something that he was intrigued by. The second time I’ve been here was for a wedding and both times were awesome
Curiodyssey is a hidden gem if you have children. There are many interesting things to see and do. My children can stare at the marble run for hours (me too). The garden is a nice little walk too.
Really fun science museum and mini zoo for kids. There's also a playground, and spectacular views of the Bay. You do have to pay (~$7) to get into the Coyote Point Regional Recreational Area to be able to access the museum, but if you stay and hang out in the park or at the waterfront there, it will feel worth it because it's quite beautiful. Pro tip: bring snacks for the museum because they don't sell food or drinks, and also bring stuff for a picnic at Coyote Point when you leave and you're all hungry and tired.
