Cleveland Family YMCA

The Cleveland Family YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga, runs a traditional summer day camp for ages 5-18 from late May through early August. Camp days run 9am-4pm with pre-camp care from 7am and after-camp care until 6pm, so the program covers a full workday. Weeks are themed and include inflatables and field trips, including a trip to YMCA Camp Ocoee during Great Outdoors Week. Recent pricing was $180 per week for members and $235 for non-members, plus a $10 registration fee; financial assistance is available.

Powered by GoogleOur family enjoys the Y, specifically the variety of equipment and classes. We also like the community focus. A couple of things to be aware of- guaranteed rate increase EVERY year, no special promotions for long term members (only new ones), and that new white flooring (was definitely not the best choice).
I’ve had a great experience at the Cleveland Family YMCA. It’s clean, well-maintained, and has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The staff are kind and professional, and the equipment and facilities are organized and easy to use. What really stands out is the sense of community. You’ll see people of all ages staying active, whether it’s working out, playing basketball, or participating in programs. It’s more than just a gym — it’s a place that encourages health, discipline, and connection. Definitely a great place to be.
I just canceled my family membership. I am a health and fitness coach and the way this situation has been handled regarding men bullying women in the gym is unacceptable. There’s a man there that won’t leave me alone and they won’t do anything about it. It started last July when he took the machine I was using and said “get your crap and get out of here”. He just sits on machines to play on his phone and doesn’t even use them most of the time. They talked to him that time but then he just started following me around the gym farting and popping his bubble gum for hours. I got another membership to another gym so I wouldn’t have to be around him as much but tried to keep my Y membership bc my daughter uses it. So I was just doing one leg day a week there. Last Friday I was doing leg presses and the old man wouldn’t get away from me. He can’t do bench presses or anything at all on that end of the gym and was just sitting in front of me to annoy me while he played on his phone for a long time. I asked a female trainer there to ask him to go away and she wouldn’t help me. I said I don’t feel comfortable there and that I was gonna leave and go to my other gym and she said “sounds great to me Tiffany!”. So much for women helping women from bully men. I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the director. They said he wasn’t there and would have him call me. 5 days went by and still no call so I called the Y and a woman returned my call and canceled my membership. No one helped me make this situation better. All I wanted was for that man to stay away from me. Matt there is amazing though and has always been helpful but he wasn’t there during both of these incidents.
Very clean and friendly staff! Their weight room is wonderful, it not only includes a variety of aerobics equipment, but also free weights and machines that are very easy to use. Their classes are amazing and cover a variety of different levels. They also offer wonderful programs for people that have had cancer and those with Parkinson's.
Fine place to get your workout and socializing in. There is plenty of space for racquetball, basketball, pickleball, running, and working out. The outdoor playground and pool were closed for the winter but looked awesome. Everyone was as friendly as can be.
