Salt Lake County's planetarium in downtown Salt Lake City runs full- and half-day summer STEM camps for students entering kindergarten through 8th grade. Campers do hands-on activities such as rocketry, robotics, space simulations and Astronaut Boot Camp, with access to the dome and IMAX theaters. Camps run June through August.

★★★★★Alaina HadfieldThis place is incredible. It’s free to enter, $1 parking with their QR code and entertaining for hours. I only went with educated adults and all of us had a blast. We could have stayed here for a full day easily. We played the mars simulation for at least 2 hours and then came back the next day just for that. The other games, models, simulations, etc. are all incredibly educational and entertaining. Everything is hands on and they do a great job of showing complex topics in a really simple, easy to remember way. Their shows are also all incredible. I highly recommend coming here multiple times and going to both the imax and dome theaters if possible. Great for all ages, there were even babies crawling around safely in some areas. I’ll be taking my kids here often.
★★★★John ConradLiked the Imax and dome theater shows. The dome has a domed ceiling, of course, and the sky is projected accurately, showing constellations and explaining the seasons. That was well done and informative. The IMAX has a 3D show about climate, glaciers, tornadoes, and fires. It was well done and interesting. Food available is snacks, popcorn, nachos, candy, and drinks at movie theater prices, basically. We were with a school field trip, and we walked through the various exhibits. It took about an hour to go through them. They are designed to demonstrate scientific research, and most were interactive. The five 11 to 12 year olds enjoyed Mars rover driving, Tesla ball demo, tornado, and many other things. There's a gift shop at the end also.
