The Space Place at Renaissance Academy

If you ever thought it would be exciting to crew the Enterprise, this is for you. Focus laser cannons, launch probes, raise the tractor beam and board a vessel, teleport your crew, report to your nearby star base, engage in intergalactic and interpersonal negotiations, prioritize mission parameters, you name it. The staff were careful not to overload our crew of five with too much information, but the number of available features promises a level of interactive depth to match your capacity for chaos. We left wanting more. The price is per mission, not per player, in case you also weren't certain. Frankly, it is a bargain. The staff were funny, well-prepared, and thoughtful. The props and sound effects were immersive. Several of us live out of state with small children, but the experience was so enjoyable that we are planning a return.

We went for a small birthday celebration and had a lot of fun! We were very impressed with the setup and execution. It was challenging, which made it more enjoyable. Definitely recommend if you enjoy high intensity activities!

My whole family took me here for my birthday because I LOVE this stuff, Artemis, Pulsar Lost Colony, bridge crew. I am a total space nerd. I was captain. The scenario given has never been completed by any crew , it was a lost cause, we were doomed to fail. I was so heartbroken. I had nightmares about this. Rerunning it over and over in my mind for days. I read and reread the whole captains manual, I was prepared, however the instructions on silent running was not included so we failed. My family had a good time, I however did not, at all, I was not happy. I didn’t want to write this review because I love the program and the school, I waited months but it still stings. We spent a small fortune and I hated it. Unless they have fixed it, don’t do Iron Curtain scenario.

We went with 5 adult couples (lates 30s to early 40s) and did the 3.5 hour "Quarantine" mission. It was an absolute BLAST! The fellow in charge (Bracken? Sorry if I spelled your name wrong haha) was amazing. Really fun and personable. The student staff were great too. The set up is very well put together and everything went smoothly. We would absolutely go back! The only issue is that you weren't supposed to use the word "gun" to refer to the hand-held "phasers" (toy guns) that were issued to our security team. One of the adult staff literally took away my phaser while our ship was being attacked by intruders because I used the word once (apparently, others in our group had used it before, but I was busy and hadn't noticed). That was extremely frustrating and, frankly, annoying. If we aren't supposed to use the word "gun" then I would suggest not providing us with toy guns. Provide a non-gun object, otherwise I think it is very natural for people to refer to the item as a gun.

Went with a group of co workers and had a blast. The staff was super nice and the experience was super engaging. There is a ton of depth to the game but they do a great job of making it fun and approachable.
