City Art Farm runs week-long summer art camps for ages 7-16 in south Seattle, drawing materials from its garden and from recycled goods. Camps meet Monday-Friday 10am-2pm - a four-hour day rather than a full workday - and are themed by medium or subject, such as encaustic painting with pigment and beeswax (ages 10-15), Masterworks painting techniques, and Garden Guardians projects like stepping stones and upcycled totems. An afternoon open-studio drop-in runs 2-4pm for ages 6 and up. The studio has operated since 2007.

Not to mention the darling angora goats, who provide one of the the artist's mediums (one word - felt) ! ... altogether fascinating. Plus the cordwood chicken 'chapel' ;)... (yes, cordwood...my first experience with this interesting building style). And potatoes growing in their above ground 'cans'. plus other interesting 'growies'.... well worth a visit. But have hour route clear before you start , it is tucked away ;)
