Chanhassen Dinner Theatres has offered a musical-theatre camp for kids and teens ages 5-18 since 1994. Kidstar serves ages 5-7 (K-Grade 2) in 5-day, 2.5-hour sessions, while week-long half-day sessions for older youth and teens cover voice, movement, costumes, scenery, stage combat, and improv, taught by the theatre's professional artists.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Chanhassen Dinner Theatres directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleShow was good. Saw Cat Steven's Tribute band in Fireside Room. Was a gift. Plenty of leg room. Nice patio had before show beverages with live entertainment by BJ. Service was fast. Good food.
Food and beverage service was professional and well deserving of a good tip. Our steaks were cooked to our preferred temperature and were well seasoned. Great production of Guys & Dolls! The band, the sets, the sound, the costuming, and the talented performers are all top notch!
This was my first time at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre and I hope it’s not my last. Me and Mrs. Shamu dressed up nice to go and see White Christmas. The play was great and the service and atmosphere were even better. Mrs. Shamu ordered the steak and she kindly let me have some. It was delicious. I ordered some sort of bowl that had wild rice, kimchi, beets, mushrooms, and other goodness along with some added on chicken. The photo that is included DOES NOT do that bowl justice because it was beyond delicious. I want some more right now. However, it’s worth noting that the “avacado” is just a small spoonful of guacamole. In a perfect world/theatre, there’d be five or so avacado slices in there instead. Still, it tasted delicious and the complimentary bread and salad more than made up for it in my tummy. Pro tip: figure out where Chanhassen is before you leave. Turns out, Prince lived there!
I attended the Christmas themed Drag Brunch with friends and we had a wonderful time! The food and service were good, but the entertainment experience was SO much fun... the Queens were amazing. It was good, clean fun with a hint of innuendo at times. If you're on the fence about going, take the leap. You won't regret it :)
I would totally recommend this to anyone! I saw grass and it was fantastic!! Our waiter was very kind and understanding. She was also very funny! We had such great time. Our food came out fast for the full theater! The show was phenomenal and the only complaint I have is that I can’t listen to their rendition at home! My dessert was especially good too!
