The Center for Living Arts, a Rock Island youth theatre organization, runs two-week Summer Musical Theatre Intensives in which students of all experience levels learn singing, dancing and acting by mounting a full musical, performed three times at the end of the session. One camp is for students entering grades 3–8 (June 8–21, 2026) and one for grades 8–12 (July 6–19); both meet Monday–Friday 9:00am–4:00pm and cost $350. Placement auditions are held in May, and no preparation is needed — auditioners learn a song from the show on the day.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Center For Living Arts directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleFantastic place! My daughter and nephew LOVE it here
Amazing location for local theater. Thank you for celebrating the fine arts.
This is one of the greatest places for young kids who want to test the water for acting! Dino and Tina run a great program and all kids get a part! It's even fun to just go watch! Love watching these children and enjoy this experience
My daughter's first show with them was this weekend. Great group of people! My daughter has been involved with several troupes in the area and she said " this has been my favorite, they are all soo nice."
I do/see every show that they do here. I love Dino and Tina (the directors) sm. This place is like a second home for me, I have both buildings' layout memorized like the back of my hand. Ive done like 13 shows, and I'd consider myself a veteran.
