I'd legit rate this ten thousand stars if I could! And if I could legally rename the concept of “joy” to Cathy’s Critters, I would. We booked a birthday tour and I expected something cute, maybe a few animals, a guide with fun facts. What we got instead was a full-blown, heart-expanding, soul-rearranging experience where time stopped, serotonin skyrocketed, and I briefly considered abandoning modern life to live among the creatures. First, Tess. Let’s talk about Tess. Tess is not a guide. Tess is a wildlife whisperer, a chaos coordinator, and quite possibly the chosen emissary between humans and animals. Every interaction felt effortless, personal, and somehow tailored specifically to us. She knew every animal’s personality, every little quirk, and made the entire experience feel like we were being personally introduced to her extended family. And speaking of family… we met almost every animal. Not in a “look, don’t touch” way. In a “hello, welcome, you are now part of the circle” kind of way. It never felt rushed or staged. It felt intimate, intentional, and honestly a little magical. But let’s be very clear about the highlight: The sloths. Nothing prepares you for sloths up close. Nothing. Feeding them? Incredible. Hanging out with them? Transcendent. Locking little bulging eyes with a creature that operates on a completely different understanding of time and existence? Life-altering. They are soft, slow, gentle little philosophers and I would absolutely rearrange my entire schedule to match theirs if given the chance. Sitting there with them felt like being let in on a secret the rest of the world is too busy to notice. By the end of the tour, we weren’t just visitors. We were emotionally attached. This wasn’t just a birthday outing. It was an experience that felt rare in a way that’s hard to find anymore. Personal. Genuine. Full of wonder without feeling manufactured. If you are even considering going, stop considering. Just go. And if you’re lucky enough to get Tess as your guide, know that you’ve hit the jackpot. I came for a birthday tour. I left questioning why I don’t have a sloth-based life plan.

The staff were friendly helpful and informative. The animals were kept very well and all animals were very calm and gentle with kids. Their waiver scares a person but it's not bad at all. All animals were fine with human interaction. Plenty of parking and clean farm. Overall a great experience and would love to go there again.

Tess in the office was welcoming and friendly! Gave us a map of the place and answered any questions we had! Cathy’s Critters has a variety of animals, birds and reptiles to visit and interact with! We held one of their ball pythons, Medusa and also got to hold a ferret named Lilly! All of the staff here are nothing short of amazing! 10/10 recommend bringing your kiddos to this place. We will most definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful visit to the farm today! Caislyn was incredibly kind and patient with our kids. She let my little girl to hold a bunny and she was so kind we really appreciated, it made their day so special. Thank you, Caislyn, for making our visit memorable!

I went to Cathy’s Critters 1/18 with some friends and their kids. Tess who was on the welcome center was great! She gave us all the information we needed, gave us feed cups, and we even got bottles to feed baby goats! Tess let us know if we had any questions or concerns we could come back to her or ask any of the workers on the farm! We also did the sloth and fox encounter with Courtney. She was also great, took her time with us and explained things easily to where even the littles understood. The staff is amazing, the animals were all very sweet and taken care of great. All the staff we spoke to answered our questions and were highly knowledgeable about the animals. The kids range in age from 4-13 and they all had a great time, as did us adults! Highly recommend and I will be back to love on the animals again soon!
