Carey on Dancing is a dance studio at 4458 Posterity Court in Gastonia teaching ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical and acro. It maintains a summer camp page and announces each year's camps in early February. Camp themes, dates, daily hours and age bands are not published outside that annual announcement.

★Claire BronzeAs a grandparent of a former competition dancer at this studio I am reviewing things I witnessed and experienced through my dancer. I found the studio to be disorganized in appearance and management. Dance floors were cracked, chipped and coming up in places with no intent to repair/replace them. My granddaughter had splinters and cuts from the floor multiple times. I was dropping her off for dance class one afternoon and witnessed the owners screaming at a parent in front of children. My granddaughter complained that she was sitting on the floor for hours when she was supposedly dancing during competition season. She called it "running dances" and when I asked the studio they explained that they have the girls do each competition dance and the rest of the girls, not in that dance, watch it. She was accurate that for hours she sat on the floor watching others dance and was not allowed to do any reading or homework during this time. This happened multiple days per week. The fees are high at this studio. I know that, because I called other studios in the area and compared. They also do not provide a detailed breakdown of what you are paying for. After being at several competitions watching them on stage, I can say that the technique abilities do not match the hours spent at the studio.
