GS of North-Central Alabama

Girl Scout camp property on 109 wooded acres beside Lake Guntersville, owned by Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama. The council's Camp Trico page currently lists the site as open for limited use only, meaning no staff, instructors or services are provided and visiting troops must bring their own equipment and supplies; use is arranged by contacting the council. The council's separate summer camp programme describes sleep-away camp open to any girl from Brownies (grades 2-3) upward with swimming, archery, canoeing, tubing, sailing, horseback riding and outdoor skills, but the pages read do not state which sessions, if any, are held at Trico.

I just stayed one night with a gril scout troop. It would be nice to have more privacy between each bunk bed as someone snored next to me and I did not get any sleep. Also they need more benches outside in the designated areas to sit while watching the children do activities. I am 61 and cant stand for hours at a time. The benches they have are so old and need replacing. You think a local business or group would donate. Several things there are in need or replacement outside. One thing that was updated and clean were the bathrooms in the bunk house we stayed in. The bathrooms in the dining room were awful old.

Great place for the Girl Scouts to go and enjoy the river and nature.

Very bad, the beds in the cabins had bed bugs and when we contacted the owner, they refused to do anything about it. There was mold in the kitchen and the paths were very dangerous and had no clear restricted areas.
