Camp Tamarack is a traditional overnight camp in the Deschutes National Forest about 20 minutes from Sisters, serving ages 8-18. Multi-day sessions pair morning activity classes (outdoor skills, baking, snorkeling, theater) with afternoons swimming or boating on the camp lake, and include counselor-in-training sessions and a dedicated session for kids with Type 1 diabetes. The camp announced it would wind down operations under current ownership after summer 2025, so 2026 status should be confirmed.

This camp has always been so magical to me. I’ve been a camper, a CIT, and ODS Counselor, soon a staff intern, and hopefully more after that. I knew from the first time i set foot at this camp that it would be my dream to do more there. It’s so magical to have gone from being the camper who experiences the magic, to the counselor who creates more magic for the next camp generation to experience. It’s an amazing and supportive community, campers, staff and counselors alike. I’ve always loved camp tamarack and would recommend it to anyone and everyone in a heart beat.

Camp Tamarack is by far one of my favorite places ever. Camp is a place that makes an impact on us all in so many different ways. Being a camp counselor to kids is one of my favorite things and I feel so lucky and grateful to have this as a part of my life. When I’m at camp, I feel like I can truly just be myself and that everyone will accept me for who I am. I have met some of the most amazing people and have made so many great memories at this place that I will forever be grateful for. I couldn’t recommend this place more and I highly recommend sending your kid there or volunteering to be a counselor at ODS/summer camp, trust me, you won’t regret it!

I'm so fortunate to have been invited to Camp Tamarack. This is a beautiful and peaceful place, so scenic in the winter. Ewok & Betty were very welcoming and had a series of amazing meals planned. Thanks for the use of the sleds and snowshoes!

Everyone there seemed nice. Dropped my son off for a week. I guess I'll find out when I pick him up
