What's not to like about it? I've never stayed at the camp, but every time I walk along the trail next to (this app) asked me to comment. It's a beautiful area and when you go out on the trails you can see quite a few varying biomes. As a plant nerd this brings great joy to me. Flora is not the only thing that is abundant are though, there is plenty fauna for all you animal lovers to see. Deer, owls, squirrels, fish, crustaceans, shellfish. It's Minnesota in a small area with a lot of different small biomes most of it is bog which is a beautiful thing. That being said there is in the trails that go out from camp Salie has lots of raspberry and strawberry Sandy habitat were skinks and garter snakes live. Snapping turtles, painted turtles and on occasion the rare blanding's turtle can be found here. Birds of all type. And don't even get me started on the variety of mosses and liverworts that can be found amongst the boardwalk. Sorry if that was terribly nerdy. It's just a great place to take a walk. It's magic.
Nice camp site good for groups with kids
Really my second home. Absolutely beautiful. So peaceful.
Astounding place for gatherings. There's a great hall with a kitchen, cabins, large area for fires, trails winding through the wetlands, and it's set back from the road providing privacy. I have enjoyed this place on many occasions and recommend it for groups who need a space close to nature but with adequate facilities.
