Camp Northwoods is a Girl Scouts River Valleys wilderness resident camp in northern Wisconsin near Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters, offering girls-only 6-day and 13-day overnight sessions. Campers stay in heated troop houses, three-season cabins or yurts and take part in campfires, boating, archery, hiking and arts and crafts. It is geared toward wilderness adventure and older campers.

★★★★★Rebekah DoyleMy girl scout troop is staying here, and it is wonderful. Modern amenities plus north woods remoteness. We have been stargazing every night in this dark sky area, and for some of us, it's the first time seeing shooting stars and the Milky Way. The troop house is perfect! Big bunk room, great toilet and shower setup, full kitchen, and a large and flexible seating/dining/activity area. The activity parts of camp are in great shape too. We have used the archery range, low ropes course, and waterfront for swimming and boating. The camp is available to rent for incredibly good rates to both girl scouts as well as the general public (with some restrictions). My only complaints (which are completely beyond control of the camp) are that fire starting is really hard because it has been so wet; even the covered woodshed is subject to the humidity. And, flies and mosquitoes are intense in the woods. Recommend highly Sawyer’s Picaridin spray (for bodies, not gear) over regular bug spray; head nets and citronella bracelets have been helpful at times. Bonus: The domestic water supply doesn't taste or smell like many camps we have been to - it is clear and cold and not hard, even mildly soft.
