Powered by GoogleMy daughter has been learning at CalColor Academy for 11 years--it has been a major part of her life. Recently, her mixed media piece received a National Silver Medal from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. CalColor has done a wonderful job of nurturing her interest in art and helping it grow stronger over the years. All of the teachers she has had along the way have been incredibly encouraging. In recent years, Mr. Sean has made every project student-centered, thoughtfully suggesting ideas that help students develop their skills. In the PD classes, Mr. Alvin consistently provides focused, individualized feedback that supports each student's growth. Choosing CalColor to begin her art journey has truly been one of the best decisions we've made.
Both my kids have been taking classes at Calcolor for more than four years. They do it during the school year as well as during summer. The staff are super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They love painting because of Calcolor!
Ms. Yunli is an excellent teacher at CalColor Academy. My two daughters took her digital painting class and enjoyed it very much. Not only does she teach the technical skills well, but at the end of each class she also invites parents to join for a brief summary session. During that time, she reviews what the students learned, showcases each student’s artwork, and provides thoughtful feedback—highlighting strengths, pointing out areas for improvement, and explaining how to refine and enhance their paintings. After joining her class, my kids significantly improved their digital painting skills. She also encourages creativity by teaching students how to develop original ideas and create their own artwork. Overall, I highly recommend CalColor Academy and Ms. Yunli to anyone interested in digital art.
My daughter has been studying art at Cal Color for about a year and a half. In 2024–2025, she worked on drawing (portfolio prep) with Mr Chao. She is currently taking both drawing (portfolio prep) with Mr. Sean and painting (portfolio prep) with Mr. Chao. Her experience with both teachers has been wonderful—they are exceptional instructors who are top notch in art filed, highly skilled, patient and attentive. I’ve seen clear and steady improvement in her artwork, especially in the thoughtful details she now incorporates into her drawings and paintings. Recently, she won the highest award in Domestic Species Art Contest 2025. Furthermore, her art work got selected and exhibited in International Art Museum of America for two weeks in July 2025. and I truly believe she couldn’t have achieved those milestones without the dedication and guidance of both teachers.
We have been going to Calcolor for almost two years now and I have only amazing things to say. It's an excellent art program for kids, the progress both my kids have made us beyond expectation. The teachers are very caring, skilled and pay close attention to their students and the project they do are so creative and fun, the kids love it and are growing a lot in their skills
