Powered by GoogleMy partner and I are very disappointed in the communication and professionalism with this daycare. We took off work to tour this daycare after scheduling a tour over the phone for today and also received five reminder texts about our tour. We arrived and the daycare is closed. We will not be taking our child here.
I am very disappointed with my experience at this daycare and ultimately made the decision to unenroll my children, I had previously left a positive review, but I had to remove it after my experience following my first concern regarding my son. On the day of my concern, my son was in the same diaper from before, during , and after nap (around 11:14am to 3:00pm), until I changed him myself at pickup. I noticed he developed a rash, and his poop was really hard to clean off him. His pee looked almost dark brown, and his diaper was really full and runny to the point it was close to leaking if it wasn’t changed within a few minutes.. I also received conflicting information regarding his last diaper change after the teacher checked the chart and then provided me with a different answer. When I brought my concern to the director, Esme, and explained what I observed, I was told that they “trust their teachers,” and I was made to feel like my concern was incorrect. I also felt discouraged from trusting my own observations as a parent. During this process, Esme also repeatedly suggested that I should look for another daycare also mentioning that the licensor, regional manager and herself are coming together to figure out what to do with “our” care there. Instead of feeling like we were working together to resolve a concern, I felt like I was being pushed toward leaving rather than supported in finding a solution that would keep my child in a stable environment. Prior to starting here, I had a very emotional conversation with the previous director, Morggian, where I expressed my fears about transitioning my children into a new daycare after a very difficult past experience. I was reassured at that time and felt confident and supported as a parent. Because of that, it has been especially upsetting to feel a shift in how concerns are now being handled. After raising my concern, I no longer felt heard or comfortable continuing care. I ultimately felt obligated to make the decision to leave. On a positive note, I do want to acknowledge the infant teachers, who were kind, respectful, and wonderful with my daughter. I truly appreciated the care they provided. I hope the center reflects on how parent concerns are handled and considers focusing more on collaboration and communication so parents feel supported rather than pushed away when issues are raised. I was hoping for more support or even to sit down together and talk, but it seemed more focused on protecting the center rather than helping parents feel informed and reassured. I know what I saw and I’m not going to be told otherwise. Edit: I’m now seeing the reply to this review, but I still want to say that Esme did not make us feel like things were being handled properly. We got an apology that felt rushed, and then it was like the incident never happened. Yes, she reviewed everything, but she didn’t seem genuinely concerned or cared. Like I mentioned before, she told me she trusts her teachers, but as a parent, I expected more understanding and communication. When my fiance went in to pick my son’s things up, she avoided him, which is not professional. This also isn’t the first incident involving my son not being changed. I usually stay quiet and don’t speak up, but this time I had to. Next time, please do better and help parents feel heard and supported rather than shoving an apology in their face and telling them to go somewhere else because of their mistakes. And yea I did not feel support during those “conversations” because they were all on email and not in person, I’m unsure on why I’d reach out to this daycare directly after it’s to late and I already unenrolled my children. If I didn’t feel heard the first time then why would I bother reaching out, it would be a waste of my time but thank you for the offer. My decision is being “respected” when leaving but I only chose to leave the daycare because we felt unwanted and I didn’t want my child being treated differently because of my concern I raised. I explained my experience here, that’s all that matters
I wanted to take a moment to share my complete admiration for this center and the beautiful group of people who make it phenomenal! Their programs have wonderful educators who strive to provide exceptional care for the children in their rooms. As a coach I have witnessed so many beautiful interactions, dedication, engagement, and integrity. Thank you for being a wonderful team, and doing your part in making sure the children in our community are well cared for, loved, and supported!
I went to tour this daycare today and thought this was going to be a good visit. I left baffled! I was touring the one's and two's rooms. It was nap time and the lights are on, cots , out and children are still eating. I asked if they dim the lights for the kids to transition to nap and was told by Morgan they don't as regulations do not allow them. There is no lullaby's playing or any indication for the kids to transition to nap time. I witnessed Gwen pulling a little boy by the leg onto a cot and I stopped to ask if her doing that was normal and let Morgan know I did not think that was appropriate. I then witnessed Gwen pull the child's legs again to put him on the cot and she visably got frustrated and pulled the child up and flipped him into her arms very aggressively. I then watched her pull another child by the arm to keep him on a cot and kick the surround cot the child was grabbing away. I stated to Morgan her behavior was unnecessary and very aggressive. Gwen was visably irritated the children would not lay down, and we would not be interested in coming to this daycare. Gwen stated she knew these teachers were good teachers and nap time was a bit of a struggle. So not only are they allowing these children to be treated like this, the director is aware and not addressing the behavior. I was so baffled by the response I walked out and let Morgan know I would be reporting the center and teacher. I do work for DSHS and am a court mandated reporter. I also want to warn parents to check in and be aware of how people are handling your children when you are not watching. This was inappropriate and sad to see. Cadence Academy you should be ashamed this is going on! Your job is to nuture and protect.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we had found something special. The entire staff is nothing short of wonderful—genuinely caring, patient, and deeply invested in each child’s happiness and growth. They’ve created a space where our daughter feels safe, loved, and truly at home. It’s not just a daycare—it’s her home away from home. She lights up every morning when we arrive, and we see how much she’s learning, growing, and thriving each day. The communication from the team is excellent, and we always feel in the loop and supported as parents. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to bring her here. Knowing she’s in such good hands gives us peace of mind every single day. Thank you, Cadence Academy, for all that you do—you’ve become such an important part of our family’s life.
