Breaking the Barrier School of Music is a family-owned music school in Aston (Village Green) offering private lessons in drums, piano, voice, guitar and brass, plus a Summer Band Camp and summer group classes. Its summer class sessions run Tuesday through Thursday for six weeks from late June, with a morning block at 11:00 a.m. or an afternoon block at 2:00 p.m., covering kids' bucket drumming, ukulele, jam band, group piano, songwriting and early-childhood music. Founded in 2020 by two Philadelphia School District teachers, the school emphasizes inclusion and offers lessons for students with special needs using an Applied Behavior Analysis verbal-behavior approach. Virtual lessons are also available.

Nic the owner really knows how to make lessons fun and tailors each lesson to fit the individual. I’ve had the opportunity to play out at various venues with the adult band. They offer group classes for kids and summer camps as well.
