The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns is a nonprofit that has served youth ages 6-18 in Buffalo, the Town of Tonawanda and the Cities of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda for over 85 years. Its summer offering is two day camps for ages 5-12 — Camp Spirit in North Tonawanda (1601 Sweeney Street, 7:00am-6:00pm, late June to late August) and Camp TeBeCe on Grand Island (7:30am-5:30pm, early July to late August) — plus daily camps at the Newman Family Clubhouse in Tonawanda and in Lockport running July 6 to August 14. Days include arts and crafts, nature classes, fishing, outdoor games, swimming and field trips, with rates around $205 for a five-day week or $160 for three days. The club runs a Camp Champ sponsorship program so supporters can cover a child's camp fee.
