Boolean Girl is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit running girls-only STEM day camps at Marymount University in Ballston, Arlington. Campers ages 8 and up work through multiple levels of Scratch programming (grades 3-5), micro:bit robotics (grades 5-8), and Python, artificial intelligence and web development for middle schoolers, alongside circuitry, engineering, teamwork and digital citizenship; the curriculum is aligned to state and national computer science standards and STEM high school and college students help instruct. Weekly camps run June through August, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, and staff take campers outside on breaks. Arlington residents may qualify for financial aid through Arlington County, and Boolean Girl offers a limited number of need-based scholarships.
