Block Island Maritime Institute (BIMI) is a marine education nonprofit in New Harbor on Block Island offering hands-on children's science programs and activities. Youth offerings include a Fishing Academy for ages 6-14, squid dissection and dock exploration for ages 6-7 and up, marine origami, and knot-tying, alongside aquarium viewing and harbor tours. The staff is friendly- they leave you alone if you just want to look but will educate you if you're interested. It was nice to be able to sit on their porch as well, as there are not many places to just sit on the island.
