Powered by GoogleI went to Big Snow and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was patient and helpful with the process. I'm from California and these slopes can't compare with Mammoth or Copper mountain, but these slopes and feature park offer a excellent placeholder for the upcoming snow season. I booked my session in the middle of July. If you're an avid snowboarder I would suggest you bring your own gear to avoid the lines. Be sure to make the reservations online. I had a great experience. Great for beginners just learning or the more than casual snowboarder to scratch that itch. I'm definitely coming back.
Fabulous day at the party watching FIFA (soccer games) with family. Also, took a moment to east some Asian food at the Asia area on the first floor of the mall. I love this mall, I visit often just for fun or for shopping.
I went with my partner to Big SNOW in January and we both had a great time. We are both new to skiing and Big SNOW is set up to get you skiing quickly. We did, however, wish we had taken lessons so that we could’ve maximized our time skiing. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the clothes and boot rental to out on the slopes. We were surprised that even though it was winter/ski season, the inside was quite packed. We got there when it opened and our first few rides we didn’t have to wait long for the “magic carpet.” By the end of our two hours, the line would get quite long and take up to 20 mins to get through. People taking lessons also get priority in the line so sometimes you would have to wait. I went down the beginner slope a number of times and felt confident. I tried the full length slope but I was not ready. I wiped out multiple times and got stuck on the netting near the bottom 😅. Luckily a very nice employee, Otter, helped me to get unstuck and gave me some pointers on how to improve my skiing. Overall, we had a good time and would go back but might try a weekday when there are less people.
fast rental service if you need equipment, if you got your own equipment it is even faster. pass is on the pricier end but for some June park runs I am accepting that as a trade-off...fun trails for indoor skiing. Gotta watch out for people traffic because you will have skiers of all skill level on the runs.
For an indoor mountain, it is pretty incredible. The snow is somehow so soft and well-maintained. The line got a little long at times, but it was no more than a 10-minute wait (since there is only one lift). The only thing that would make it better would be having a worker at the top of the mountain guiding people down or getting them out of the way, as people kept piling up at the top, making it difficult to start down. Same thing for getting off the lift, the workers were not always urging the people who got off before to move or stopping the lift if they couldn't move right away, which led to a few collisions as people getting off the lift would run into the others standing at the bottom. Really good place for beginners, though!
