The Barnwell County Family YMCA at 660 Joey Zorn Blvd, a branch of the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta, runs a summer day camp with daily swimming, arts and crafts, games, sports, and character-development activities. Camp activities run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free early drop-off from 7 a.m. and late pickup until 6 p.m., so it covers a full workday. Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are provided, though campers may bring their own. Registration requires a $10 non-refundable weekly deposit per camper that is credited toward that week's fee, and photo ID is required at pickup.

Powered by GoogleWhat a wonderful facility with great classes, equipment and staff. I could not recommend a local Y higher. Check them out and see how you can get stronger, healthier and find a wonderful community of folks.
They advertised and promoted childcare services for Christmas break. Once we dropped our child off, they acted disappointed that we were there. Two hours after drop off, the called and canceled the childcare service with no refund. My wife had to work the 26th and 27th while I worked night shift the previous night, the night of and the next night. Makes no sense to offer a service and not have resources to do it. One child was an inconvenience and not important to them. The employees showed no signs of wanting to be there.
Good basic gym. With quality machines and free weights. Lots of classes and friendly staff went here while on a work trip. Very fair admission fee
I understand the whole closing the pool down for breaks but meanwhile the life guards are jumping off the life guard stands into the 4 ft deep pool but they blow the whistle like crazy over small speed walking..? Not to mention the “cannon balling” off it too..?
This is our local gym. I do love the variety of classes from Strength and conditioning to kickboxing classes. The trainers are always encouraging you to use the right form :) It's also fun when strange faces at the gym become familiar faces. AND I'm so happy they added Jacobs ladder to the gym floor! I do hope they will expand the gym (more rooms, classes) in the near future or even add more YMCA's to surrounding areas.
